The Definition of Bitmap and Vector Graphics

The graphical object of the bitmap is an image formed by dots of colors combination. In a computer graphic, a bitmap is a data structure and represents the arrangement of color pixels that appear on the monitor, paper, or other similar media. The width and height of bitmap images are measured in pixels unit along with their numbers (bits/pixel). While bitmap formats are image files with PNG, GIF, JPEG, and BMP extensions.

You might be familiar with the term vector, which is a part of the mathematics subject. All students who study mathematics must have studied vector lessons. So, a graphical vector is an image formed by a combination of lines and dots using a mathematical formula.

The Advantages of Vector Graphics

  • The space used for the image object storage is very efficient.
  • The size and shape of vector graphics can be changed without affecting the quality of the image.
  • Can be printed with high resolution using a printer.
  • It’s to draw, shape, and edit vector images.

The Disadvantages of Vector Graphics
