  • Submit administrator account details and confirm it.

  • exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  • Wait for several minutes until operation gets completed.

Note: When you run DISM command on your system, it relies on Windows Update files to help you fix registry error or corruption. If you find Windows Update client is broken on your system, better use running Windows installation on your system as a repair source. Here, you can also use Windows DVD as a source of the files.

Repair Windows 8 System:

To do this, follow below-mentioned steps.

  • Insert the bootable Windows 8 DVD and restart your system.
  • Press any key on your system to start boot process from DVD when asked.
  • Wait until installation process is initiated.
  • Now go to “repair” option and follow the instructions (given on-screen) to fix the system. Here, it will not erase any data as it will restore OS to its previous state.

Run SFC Command

To do this, follow below mentioned steps.

  • Search “cmd” in the Run dialog box and right-click on Command Prompt. Here select “Run as administrator”.
  • Submit administrator account details and confirm it.
  • Now on Command Prompt window, run below-mentioned command: sfc /scannow
  • Here, you need to wait for some time until the process gets completed.

Note: Once completed, close the command prompt. Next is to run Windows Update to fix the error.

Clean Cluttered Registry Manually

The next best solution to fix registry errors that may help to speed up Windows 8 system is to use the built-in registry editor. It helps you view, manage and fix all registry errors effortlessly on your system. Though this is a handy tool but it has its own limitations. To make full use of this built-in utility you should be better aware of how the registry works on your system. Further, you should also know which files need repair. To access registry editor on your system search and select “regedit” in the Run dialog box.
