If you are using a Nikon DSLR camera, there are two important quick tricks made by Nikon as shortcuts keys. There are two Nikon DSLR shortcut keys on the newest Nikon DSLR products to quickly reset factory settings and to format your memory card in the camera.
Reset Factory Settings Shortcut Keys on the Nikon DSLR Camera
To quickly factory settings reset a Nikon DSLR camera, find the two green dots. Both green dot buttons show you which button to push for restoring the camera settings as its initial settings when you bought it. Push the two buttons nearby the two green dots simultaneously as long as 2 seconds. Then, your Nikon DSLR camera will restore all of its settings to its initial condition (default settings).
For instance, on the Nikon D7200, the green dot buttons on the left side of the back of the camera and the other one is on the right side of the upper panel. Push both of them simultaneously for 2 seconds, then your D7200 camera will reset to its factory settings.
Meanwhile, on the Nikon D500 camera, both green buttons are located on the right and the left side of the top panel.
On the Nikon D5200, you will find them at the top side of the back panel of the camera.
Unfortunately, not all digital Nikon DSLR cameras have such green buttons. For example, Nikon D3200 does not support the Nikon DSLR shortcut keys like the newest products. The Nikon D3200 does not support a shortcut button like the newest Nikon DSLR shortcut keys. So, you need to go to the menu to reset to its factory settings.
How to Quickly Format the Memory Card in Nikon DSLR
You can also quickly format your memory card in Nikon DSLR camera using a shortcut button. But it’s only available in the middle-to-high class of Nikon DSLR cameras such as D7000 series and above. To do so, find a red button with a format signed on the body of your Nikon DSLR camera. For instance, the format shortcut key on Nikon D610 is available on the delete button and metering button as shown below:

To format the memory card, push the both [Format] marked buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds until it says “For” on the top LCD panel. But make sure you do it when the memory card is in ON position. Then release the keys and let the “For” article remains on the LCD panel.
Shortly after that, push both buttons again until the For article is missing which means your memory card has been formatted and all the photos have been deleted.
